CONGRATULATIONS 14U TEAM!

The 14U team battled hard over the weekend but came up short in the Championship game.
After knocking off the rust from all of the rainouts the boys rallied hard on Sunday to play GREAT baseball.
We run ruled the T-Rex 17-6 as the lumber heated up.  There were many offensive contributors in that game and Connor Teich came on to thwart a bases loaded rally in the 2nd and hold the T-Rex in check the rest of the game.

In the second game against the Matadors, Gabe Hamilton was the star as he pitched an 8 strikeout shutout and dominated the game.  It came at a critical time as the Matadors starting pitcher had us in handcuffs for most of the game.  We took a 2-0 lead into the sixth when we blew it open with 6 runs.

In the nightcap we ran into a juggernaut of a team.  The Chandler Rangers.  The Rangers were the number one seed which got a bye into the semi-finals.  We, on the other hand, had to fight our way up from a #3 seed having to play an extra game.  The Rangers were able to save their top 2 pitchers for the championship game.  This is why it is important to come out playing top shelf baseball from the first game on Saturday.  The Rangers put on quite an offensive show as everything they hit found paydirt.  There were some very hard hit balls and all of the softly hit balls found their way in as well.  They had 10 runs on us in the first 2 innings.  We held them in check for the next 3 innings but the early runs were hard to overcome.  We lost 11-3 in 5.

Jack Lynch was THE MAN during the tournament as he took home the MVP honors.  WIthout checking the scorecard, I believe he only got out 5 times during the 5 games.  He had 5 clutches and 6 Murphy's.  What an amazing display of offensive superiority!
We also had Co-Cy youngs with Connor Teich and Gabe Hamilton taking home the honors.  Neither pitcher gave up any earned runs as Connor had 2 wins and Gabe finished with a save in the first game and the 2 hit 8K Masterpiece that vaulted us into the Championship game.

Way to go!
