The 11U team came out of the gates slugging the ball en route to a 12-1

The hitters weren't as strong on Sunday was they lost a tough one.

The MVP for the weekend was Tanner Jantz as he was strong all weekend on the mound,
Field and at the plate collecting a couple of Murphy's along the way.

Allen DeFreitas picked up the Cy Young Award as he stymied all of the hitters he faced. He picked up 4 C3PO's over the weekend.

Way to go boys!

13U TOURNAMENT RESULTS

The 13U team lost some tough games this weekend. They lost on a wild pitch in the second game. The hitters we silent most of the tournament and need to step up to advance in the tournament.

Joe Moran was the super hero in the tournament as he threw the ONLY COMPLETE GAME NO HITTER
IN SPIN DOCTOR HISTORY. He dominated the game and had a huge hit in the win they won 8-0

I'm going out on a limb and say he won the Cy Young Award

Way to go Joseph!

14U GOLD AND GREEN TOURNAMENT

The 14U teams had an amazing weekend. Both teams played very well and were the best nine on the fields. The Gold and Green teams faced each other in the Majors semifinal and had the best game of the tournament.
The green team won the #4 seed by winning their second game 14-3 and losing a close one in their opener.

Dominic Randazzo won the MVP as he played well in all aspects of the game.  Way to go DOM!

Cohen Heckathorn won the Cy Young award as he consistanly kept thehitter off base and gave us a chance to win!  Nice job!

The gold team won a hard fought battle in the Spin Doctor clash 6-3. Parents from the teams that watched the game said they were impressed with how the Green team battled to take the lead only to make the gold team execute perfectly to take the lead. The gold team scored 50 runs in 4 games. The green team was the only team they did not run rule during the entire tournament!

They won the championship game 15-3.

Riley Kirke was the MVP as he blasted balls all over the field.

Newcomer Abel Avitia easily won the Cy Young award by pounding the zone and mixing his pitches well.

It was an amazing tournament in regards to hitting. I have never given out so many Murphy's in a tournament. .

13U MAJORS CHAMPIONS!

Congratualeions to the 13U Gold team!.  We absolutely dominated over the weekend.  The boys came ready to play and left a number of teams in their wake.  The team went undefeated but yet were seeded #3.  They had to play the top 2 seeds above them and they rose to the challenge.  In the first game they faced a very LARGE Angels team with quality pitching.  Their last pitcher actually was working on his GOATEE.  No lie!!!!!
The hitters made sure that we are afraid of no pitcher, (especially with goatees) as we put up a 9 spot on them. (our LOWEST run total for the tournament).
In the championship game, Riley Kirke kept us close with some quality pitching, waiting for our guns to break loose.  Heading into the 4th we were down 3-0 and then the boys opened up a can....
The big blow came as JJ Hessel wiped out their lead with a 3 run BOMB to the opposite field and over the bullpen in Fenway.  We never looked back after that, scoring 3 and 5 runs over the next 2 innings to beat the Buzztails 13-3.  What a great way to celebrate Mother's Day.  Nick Grossman came in late in the game and shut down any hopes that the Buzztails might have had.  Nick and Riley shared the Cy Young award and Nick also took home the MVP for this tournament!  Way to go Nick.   Next up.... Flagstaff!
MOM'S DAY
JJ AND RILEY....READY TO LAUNCH
HAPPY DAYS!

CONGRATULATIONS 14U TEAM!

The 14U team battled hard over the weekend but came up short in the Championship game.
After knocking off the rust from all of the rainouts the boys rallied hard on Sunday to play GREAT baseball.
We run ruled the T-Rex 17-6 as the lumber heated up.  There were many offensive contributors in that game and Connor Teich came on to thwart a bases loaded rally in the 2nd and hold the T-Rex in check the rest of the game.

In the second game against the Matadors, Gabe Hamilton was the star as he pitched an 8 strikeout shutout and dominated the game.  It came at a critical time as the Matadors starting pitcher had us in handcuffs for most of the game.  We took a 2-0 lead into the sixth when we blew it open with 6 runs.

In the nightcap we ran into a juggernaut of a team.  The Chandler Rangers.  The Rangers were the number one seed which got a bye into the semi-finals.  We, on the other hand, had to fight our way up from a #3 seed having to play an extra game.  The Rangers were able to save their top 2 pitchers for the championship game.  This is why it is important to come out playing top shelf baseball from the first game on Saturday.  The Rangers put on quite an offensive show as everything they hit found paydirt.  There were some very hard hit balls and all of the softly hit balls found their way in as well.  They had 10 runs on us in the first 2 innings.  We held them in check for the next 3 innings but the early runs were hard to overcome.  We lost 11-3 in 5.

Jack Lynch was THE MAN during the tournament as he took home the MVP honors.  WIthout checking the scorecard, I believe he only got out 5 times during the 5 games.  He had 5 clutches and 6 Murphy's.  What an amazing display of offensive superiority!
We also had Co-Cy youngs with Connor Teich and Gabe Hamilton taking home the honors.  Neither pitcher gave up any earned runs as Connor had 2 wins and Gabe finished with a save in the first game and the 2 hit 8K Masterpiece that vaulted us into the Championship game.

Way to go!

13U MAJORS CHAMPIONS!

What a wonderful day of baseball on Sunday.  The 13U team kept up their good play from Saturday and repeated it on Sunday.  I sat in amazment witnessing some of the best web gems any of my teams have ever had.  It was truly breath taking.  Aiden and Gage made tremendous sliding and diving plays to take away certain hits, Tommy was a man on a mission at SS and Alex was a vacuum at first base, twice saving games with huge digs at first.  There were so many great plays by all, it was a sight to behold!
It was such a great weekend for so many players, there was a 3 way MVP with Joey Faudskar, JJ Hessel and Alex Segal taking home the honors.  Joey also packed a CyYoung away over the weekend totaling 9 IP and only 2 runs.  JJ hit a monsterous home run to left reminescent of 14U Spin Doctor David Christensen's feat.
It was a total team effort as all contributed in the wins.  On Saturday, Casey Cooper laid down 2 huge bunts bringing in a valuable run in a tight contest.  We had 3 safety squeezes executed to perfection with all players safe over the weeekend.
I gave out over 30 helmet stickers which is a SDB record.  You know I don't just give those out....you earn them!

Great weekend overall.  All  phases of the game were clicking:  Great pitching, Defense, hitting and baserunning.  With those combinations we brought home the hardware.
Congratulations boys, you earned it!

13U TOURNAMENT

We played very well throughout the whole weekend.  We finished 3rd and the team that beat us won the championship game 9-0.  We were the only competition they saw as we lost a squeaker 3-2.  That will be the best pitcher we face all year.  Not bad after only having 2 practices together as a team.  Way to go guys.
Great defense, pitching and hitting.  Joey Faudskar took home hte MVP while Gage and Joey shared the Cy Young award.  way to go guys.  We had a whole bunch of Murphy's given out this weekend!

13U CHAMPIONS AGAIN

Oops we did it again.  For the third time this year we have taken home the top prize.  In all, we have played in 7 tournaments.  We have played in the FINALS in 5 of the 7 tournaments.  Well done boys!
A shout out to all of the boys who have worked hard on their game.  We have co-MVP's in JJ Hessel and Aiden Armstrong as they belted the ball around the park.  JJ had 2 inside the parkers and Aiden was right on his heels with one and two triples.  Ben Reiners won the IRON MAN award catching all the games of the tournament.  Great job Ben!  Ty Isbell took home the Cy Young as he pitched masterfully after sitting out the last couple of months.  This was his first time on the mound since our 2nd tournament....CLUTCH TY!
We are back at it again the weekend of Feb 12 as we are set to start the new spring season with new faces.
Welcome, Joey, Gage, Trevor, Riley and Ryan.  Let's get ready to rrrrrumbllle!

Oh what a wonderful day!

I want to thank you for all of your hard work over the Winter and today we reaped the benefits of your efforts.  For the first time in Spin Doctor history the 13 and 14U teams won their championships on the same day.  What an amazing day it was.  It took a while but the 13U team got their bats going while on life support and came alive to win their semifinal game in a come from behind thriller.  They continued their timely hitting to put away a pesky Commanders team 17-7.  Their were heroes all over the lineup as each player stepped up and contributed.  Aiden Armstron and JJ Hessel were the CO-MVP's as their exploits were hard to separate.  JJ had 2 inside the park home runs and Aiden was on his heels with a couple of triples and game saving web gems in the outfield.  Ty Isbell came off of the shelf after not pitching for a couple of months and saved the day with a stunning performance to win the Cy Young for the tournament.

The 14U team found it's "KWAN" as they obliterated stiff MAJORS level competition by scoring 56 runs in 4 games.  David Christensen took home the MVP while belting 3 home runs over the weekend.  His last blast was a Grand Slam walk off homer that sealed the win by a 20-7 score.  Gabe Hamilton pitched a complete game shutout GEM to take home the Cy Young.  There are too many superlatives to cover , let's just say it was a total team effort and EVERYONE contributed greatly to the championship win.  Home run hitters for the weekend were David and his 3, Willie Thomas, Gabe Hamilton. Jack Lynch and Marcus Skundrich.  I will post the picture of the victors as I receive them.
What an amazing day!
                                                    MVP DAVID CHRISTENSEN
                                                               3 HOME RUNS
                                                              1 GRAND SLAM

14U FIREWORKS DISPLAY

What an impressive display of baseball!
The 14U team advanced to the semifinals as the number one seed after disposing of a really good team and an average team.  They punished the RAGE in the first game 14-4 as David Christensen, Jack Lynch and Marcus Skundrich hit home runs.  The whole team had their hitting shoes on as every player on the team had at least 1 hit.
In the nightcap they continued their power surge as we beat the Maricopa Titans 12-0.  David Christensen and Willie Thomas hit MAMMOTH home runs that would have been out in any park.  In fact, all 5 home runs  hit would have left any yard.  Way to go boys as we played 2 PERFECT games of baseball in all aspects, Pitching, Hitting, Fielding and Baserunning.  It was truly remarkable.
We continue the juggernaut beginning tomorrow at 11:15.
Be at the cages 1 hr before game time.

14U Weekend

The 14U team battled long and hard to make it to the CHAMPIONSHIP GAME this past weekend.
They showed their true grit as they won their first two games in their last at bats.  In the semifinal game on Sunday Gabe Hamilton pitched a gem with some misfotune and held off a feisty ASBA.  We entered play as a #1 seed in the Majoprs bracket on Sunday and eventually lost to an extremely good team.  It was a close game up to the 5th inning when they broke the game open and ended our run for the championship.
Overall, we played great baseball over the weekend and we look to continue the trend next week.
GREAT JOB 14U TEAM!
